about circling skies

Hi, I'm Stef (with an f)! Welcome to the Circling Skies! I’ve always been inspired by the beauty of the sky, from the twinkling stars to the magic of a sunset, and I wanted to bring that feeling to life through ceramics. Each piece I make is meant to bring a little piece of the sky to your table. A little more about me:

Why "Circling Skies" Ceramics?
Can’t keep my eyes from the circling skies / Tongue-tied and twisted / Just an earthbound misfit

Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd is my favorite song and when I started thinking about what I wanted to name my pottery business, Circling Skies came up pretty quickly. I loved it but I worried that people wouldn’t get it, that it was weird or silly, that it didn’t work. But I could not get it out of my mind.

The song is about self-discovery, growth and change, and embracing the unknown. It’s exactly how I feel about my pottery. I love it, it calms me, and trying to make this into a business is scary but I welcome the challenge.

Each of my pieces comes stamped with my maker’s mark, which I drew myself.

Let’s fly into the circling skies together.
